has any one heard of mealworms eating lizards from the inside out

once i found one of my beardies dead (long time ago. from unknown reasons) and it had a mealworm crawling ont it, i refuse to use mealworms unless i kill them first, im not sure this was the cause of the death but i wont risk it again!

I have fed mealworms to lizards for a long time, I usually either stick a pin in them first so the stomach acids get in or I only feed the white newly shed worms or the beetles.

Yes they would be more of a problem for hatchlings.

Crikey! Poor little hatchies. I crush the heads with tweezers, they still move for a while and the lizards can go at em. I only use new molt worms for small lizards.
