A BUSHLAND Beach woman has tangled with a 3m snake in a life-or-death tug-of-war to save her dog.
Goicoechea Drive resident Brenda van Bovene leapt to the defence of Tammy, her 11-year-old Australian Silky Terrier, after she heard the animal's desperate cries for help on Monday afternoon.

guess thats the price u pay to live near bushland.... i however would have brang my dog inside after the first sighting for both of there safety. wonder how that snakes jaws are after tug o war?

''A snake (as big as that which attacked Tammy) could easily do the same to an infant.'' - As if parents would just leave their babies in the backyard alone to roam free range lol journos

The council should definitely get themselves into shape n get that grass cut, such simple measures to avoid all of this nonsense in the first place really.

Glad they didn't just kill the snake though :D
