Is this correct?

How harmful is it Or can be ?

i have used it to induce the labor of some of my pitbull terriers.

From what i understand it is used on humans as well to induce labor.

Havent heard of it done on any herps, but im not a vet or doctor.

dont know about turtles, but it dosent work on snakes.it only works on smooth muscle, snakes and most lizards use skeletal muscles to push their eggs out.

It is used quite frequently on turts. Its a hormone which is also quite involved in lurve, so be careful that your animals dont get too attached to you

Used to induce birth or laying.
Not always effective. As OH said, a hormone.

Oxytocin to my knowledge is a naturally occuring hormone that is very cool. It is released upon going into to labour. This hormone allows for muscles to relax greater than they normally can (allowing the large size baby to exit a small size hole) whilst doing this it also allows muscles two make highly powerful contractions allowing the body to push the baby out. Imagine to a lesser extent a gymnast very strong yet equally flexible.
