Well according to Snakes NT they can get up to 2.5m :shock: and over 15kg but i think they are usually about 1.5m and females are smaller.

u lucky littel thing you :) if i had the cash i was gonna get a pair aswell but since i dont have the cash im missing out :( i love these monitors so much character and they get so chunky :)

I believe they are from near Darwin. In victoria they cant keep these guys or spencers monitors(?), I have no idea why just one of those stupid rules. Some time back they killed a heap of them that where brought in as sand monitors :(

Great shots. Love it when they stand up like that. The V.panoptes is one of the two monitor species I'd love to have, but alas, I live in Victoria :cry:
