Just wondering...is a sparky really needed to install these? They come all wired ready to plug into a power outlet. I know that downlights are meant to be installed 200mm from any materials that provide insulation (sparkies correct me if I'm wrong). So if these guidelines are followed, is a sparky really needed?Cheers

if there plug and play i don't see why it would be a problem, i do all my own electrical wiring

if they are pre-wired don't stress. They must have a 150mm air gap around all them to prevent overheating and fire. you can buy the hoods from most lighting shops to help keep stuff out of the way of them to stop this from happening, otherwise a 150mm diameter piece of PVC pipe 150mm long also does the same thing.
