I have an Albino Carpet Python, he is either just over a year or just about to be a year old, I cant remember the exact date of birth the breeder told me but it was either in October or November.
I have had him for roughly 3 months and he has been an absolute champ and the best first snake I could ask for, feeding reguarly every week.

The last 3 weeks though, I have noticed that he is getting the rat down very quickly, talking under 5 - 10 minutes to have it all the way down, and then he looks like he is ready for more.
Size wise the rats I am feeding him look correct, they are roughly 1.5x the size of his thickest part. The rats he is currently on are called Velvets and range from 10-20g.

I am wondering, because he is eating so quickly and looks ready for more right away, is now a good time to increase to the next size?
Next size will probably be weaner rats and these looks massive and too big for him, just looking for some help.

Thank you :)

Yes

He should on average be on small 100g+ rats Atleast by now

For any voracious feeders I get, they start at 8-12g feeds 2 weeks out of the egg

Wow that sounds like a massive jump, this is a recent photo of him, that size wouldn’t be too big to keep down for him?

And how often would you say he should be having one of those?

Try something like a weaner rat weekly 40-50g

Thanks guys for the help, as an update, gave him a weaner rat tonight, looking at it I thought it was way to big but he proved me wrong and he ate it like a champ.
I’ll give him one of these weekly for a bit and see if he needs a increase again
