HI all, is it ok to move a silkworm cocoon once the caterpillar has finished spinning? I would like to move it from the side of the caterpillar box to a separate box, would this harm the moth?

I moved a cocoon once after it had been spun, and the moth still hatched out so I guess it should be fine.

As long as the cocoon has been fully made. It takes about 3 days for the catipillars make their cocoons.

After it has bbeen fully spun, you can them nove the cocoon easily. When you move them they can wiggle a little bit (the pupa in the cocoon) but this just means that the're alive.

You might also get some which don't make a cocoon but still turn in to pupa. They are fine too, if they have comepletely turned in to pupa. (wait the three days untill you move them so you know they are good, if they are bad they will go soft and kinda deflate and leak)
