Spotted Python Help Please

I'm new and just got a spotty recently. He is 4mo currently. After I got him he was pretty adventurous and explored the enclosure every night like a clockwork for a week. I gave him a pinky and he was happy but then just hid in his hide and haven't been out since (3 days already). Is it normal?
Also, when do you handle them, when they wake up or during the day?
Lastly, should I wait till he becomes active again or just get him from his hide anyway to handle?

Hi, mate. This does seem very normal, he's gone to digest his food in the warm and safe place, and won't want to be disturbed. He will do the same when he goes into shed too - you might not see him for a week or two even longer sometimes.

Handling is up to you, day or night, it doesn't really matter.
