Stimsons python enclosure size

Hi all, I'm hoping to purchase my first stimsons python soon.

I've got a spare 4ft x 2ft tank I was hoping that I could reuse for it when it gets older.

I've read online a lot that 3ft is the recommended minimum size, so would there be any downsides for going larger than this?
