when we say 32C on the hot side does the whole area have to be that temp or can their be a kind of heat spot?

i just moved my 7month python into a 2ft tank as she was way to big for her click clack, i only have a 50w heatcord atm on a mat stat set to 32C under the tank, however 2cm above the tank floor is about 27C. im gonna grab a heat globe for some above heating soon.

im just curious if this direct surface heat is sufficient or does the snake need an overall temp of 32C.

i hope my questions makes sense,
cheers.

In a two foot tank it's a bit hard to get a hot end and a cold end so a cage temp of 28c-30c would be the best way to go.Imo air temp is more important than floor temp.
I keep all my smaller pythons in small cages and they have 28c-30c and do very well.

and when you get a globe dont run the globe above the heatmat
