The best advice I can give you with an eye injury or infection is to take the animal to an experienced reptile vet. The reason I say that is because there is a wide variety of potential causes, some a lot more serious than others. If you are not able to do this immediately, then it would be advisable to swab the eye three times a day using an antimicrobial solution such as Chlorsig or 10% Bettadine lotion (not the ointment). Use gauze swabs (from the local chemist or supermarket) cut into suitable sized pieces that can be disposed of after use. Cotton balls can be used if need be, but make sure there are no strands of cotton left behind. Cotton tips are not suitable as they are too rigid and too small to softly swab the eye surface and associated tissues.

Hope it is not serious and clears quickly.

Hey, that is good to hear. It might have got a speck of dirt or something under the nictitating membrane and was closing it trying to wash it out. A very attractive specimen. Do you know where it originated from?
