Hi,

Just checking the recommended salinity range for turtles? I have it at 0.32% as I haven't replenished it over the last few water changed. But have forgotten which reading I need?

Hi mate, 4-5 grams of salt per litre of water in the aquarium... 4.00 - 5.00 ppt (parts per thousand).

So if I bring it up to 0.40% -0.50% that’s correct? Can’t seem to work out how to change my meter to ppt.

You should be able to do 4-5 divided by the number of litres of water will give u salinity%

Just work out the volume of your aquarium.... for example... 100 litres of water, you need to add anywhere between 400 and 500 grams of salt.

I understand that, but as I did not have scales at the time I was judging by my salinity reader to give a accurate reading.
I will continue to add salt until it says between 0.40-0.50% then, as no one seems to be able to say if this is right or wrong so I’m assuming this is equivalent to the 4.00ppt.

I just had the same problem and you are correct.
4.00-5.00ppt = 0.40% - 0.50%
or
4.00-5.00ppt = 4000ppm - 5000ppm
