Turtle setup

HI all tomorrow i pick up my first Turtle, my tank is a 3 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot tank, i have 2 filters, a aqua one 1200 canister filter also a internal filter, it also has a large exo terra magnetic floating island, heater, uva & uvb light. 30 feeder fish, think im ready to go.


a question i did have for the turtle experts is, can you have different species living together, eg. macquarie short neck with a saw shell.

i have asked a fair few pet shop owners and no one can give me a answer.

it is fine to house them together, mine were long neck and sawshell were housed together fine!

I was told by a turtle breeder that if you get them when they are the same size they should be fine, though not sure if it depends on the species. I got two different species the same size and never had a problem.

Pretty sure a sanctuary here has short and long necks in same lake.
As a new owner myself have been reffered to this forum by another APS member which has proved very helpful
