While travelling through South Australia last month
I was given the opportunity to go and see the Venom Research facility at Tanunda.
Thanks Nathan for your hospitality and giving me the chance to see you guys in action.
Some pics and a video were mandatory of course.

I love that all 7 "subspecies" of tiger snake are represented and recognised by venom researchers.

Your a lucky man Baz, what a great experience to get a tour of the place. Did you get to see the outdoor pits with the local stuff? suppose it was probably a bit cold for them to be out.

Didn't slip any of those eyelash vipers into your jacket did you lol!!

I did see the outdoor pits ollie and I told Kaz that
'this is what we are doing to the backyard when we get home..'
Shes like, 'whatever'...
That eyelash viper was huge, as far as eyelash vipers go
but she was not breeding for Nathan and just kept giving up slugs.
This movie is a bit average as I was like a kid in a lolly shop and I
didnt have enough time to satisfy my interest.aaanyway enjoy

Good stuff:)! Local stuff and pits are the way forward for me; Mr Sowter's I find pretty inspirational.

Fascinating video Baz. Geez he hung you out for awhile before cracking a lid on a tub!

Great video thanks for posting that. living in the UK and only having the humble Adder I don't know how I would cope with the number of venomous snakes you have 'roaming' around in Australia.

Kindest regards

Endeavour

baz you should have waited til he turned around and then given the gabby a quick scratch under the chin :D

A scratch under the chin you say? Do they like that?..They do look slow and easy going but they are capable of a lightning fast strike..and Im not as quick as I used to be..So ill stick to the tigers.

you are pretty quick at dodging falling cars from what I have seen ;)
