where to herp around Cairns?

Hey everyone i am going to Cairns in a few weeks, where are the best herping spots in cairns to find pythons etc? im keen to take some photos of pythons in the wild other than elapids

Water Pythons around the cane fields and roads that edge fresh water swamps, scrubbies and carpets really anywhere around forested areas, drive up to the Daintree during the day, have a look around there, drive back at night.. plenty of snakes on suburban roads you just have to do the Kms
