Looks Like a boa of some kind.
Or it is one of those mangrove snakes from nt
 
thanks saximus, a mate found this snake while he was up norhtern australia i think northern teritory i will find out for sure and post though
 
Looks very much like a Darwin Mangrove snake (myron richardsonii). Where was the snake found?
 
Nice guys thanks. I reckon Richoman is onto something from pics on Google. Glad it wasn't a keelback and actually kept you guys on your toes :p
