shame i couldn't help this poor bugger. he must of only just been hit before i found him cause he was still alive.
was just over 5ft on the tape and looked in pretty good condition, besides the tyre marks.:(

which is why appearences can be decieving.
i am not aware of any verified sighting of kellback in the sydney basin.
you can't see the head clearly in the pic i posted but i can assure you there was no loreal scale in front of the eyes.
deffinatly a brown mate;)
 
Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. There's a recurring joke on this site at the moment where whenever a snake photo is shown (for IDing or otherwise), people say it's a keelback. The thread linked to in my first post went like this:
Person A: Here's a pic of a keelback
Person B: That's an odd-looking keelback
Person T: Mate, that's definitely a keelback
Person A: Ha ha - it's actually a taipan!
Hence, the joke.

Just to be clear, I don't at all think the snake in your photo is a keelback.
