Having wisdom teeth out-what to expect?

I had 3 severely impacted wisdom teeth out in April. Mine had grown into my jaw, so I had to go to a specialist surgeon to have parts of my jaw removed to get the teeth out. SOOO freaking painful. Don't mean to scare you, but holy crap, it was the worst thing I've ever been through. Not only the pain prior to and straight after the surgery, but it was a nightmare recovery period of about 8 weeks. I couldn't open my mouth at all for about 6 weeks, and it was just pure hell.

So, depending on the severity of the impaction, it can be worse than you can even imagine!

Actually, thinking back again, the MOST painful part of it was quite probably the cost! Mine had to be done straight away, so I couldn't go on the public waiting list.. it ended up costing me over $6000! It was quite difficult to come up with that kind of money in 3 days. But it had to be done, so what option do you have!
