Hi,
I have an Eastern Beardie and I found a mite in his tank yesterday.
Just wondering if I am able to use TOD in his enclosure? He doesn't appear to have mites but I'll do another thorough check today.
Also if I can't use TOD any other options? Like washing it in Bleach/Water?

Thanks:)

Are you sure it is a mite?
There are many tiny insects that might be mistaken for reptile mites.

Yes you can use TOD but follow the instructions. Note also that TOD will kill any live food in the enclosure.

There are other options... thought bleach would not be at the top of my list. Soapy water will kill (drown) mites so something like giving the beardy a luke warm bubble bath will kill the mites on the animal. In Canada I regularly had to bath out Iguanas in the bath tub with a small amount of shampoo added until we finally got the mites under control.

If it is mites you will have brought them in from somewhere... and they will be on the animal. Check around the eyes, folds in the skin etc. If they are not found you probably do not have a mite issue.

Thank you very much herptrader I will have another look!!!
