I just purchased a Ornate Monitor (Varanus ornatus) for Meaghan! Perhaps not the best choice for our first Varanus, but talk about jumping in with both feet. He/she is a juvenile and will get here probably next week or the week after. I can't wait. Had to share. I really hope the photo gallery is back up by then. Oh well, it's in very capable hands.

Ornates get around 5-7ft. .

Who'd have thought I'd spell that right?
