Stone over heatcord

Just wondering if anyone has put stones over there heatcords instead of tiles? Looking at making more nature looking enclosures and wondering if stones would be safe to use straight over the heatcord (will prob use aluminium tape to hold the cord down first)

That's what i do to heat the floor of my enclosures. I tape heat cord to large the pieces of flat stone and setup a switching thermostat to monitor the heat. Works well and looks great. I just use electrical tape to join it so I can remove the rock for cleaning

It would work exactly the same, tiles are mostly stone/rock anyway..
