I heard a couple years back that herpetologists were testing the the accuracy of sexing snakes via DNA testing of their shed skins.

Does anybody know if anything has come of this?

Not exactly answering your question but I can tell you that DNA kits for human testing are male or female, they generally have to know the sex of the sample before testing.

Sdaji could answer this question for you, But from what i gathered at the time they ran out of funding to continue the project.

Oh damn, that's ashame. Be a safer option than probing.

That could still work Deadpan. If you bought a male kit, thinking you have a male, and the test shows negative, then there is only one other answer eh? Is that how the human kits work? Wouldn't on the snakes, though, pity.
