We found this diamond in the back yard today.

Popped it into a tub for a quick photo before releasing it again. I suspect it is eating rats near the compost and I want to encourage this!

When we let it go it stretched out on the railing so we got a good length estimate of 155cm.

It had lots of scars/lesions along the body. Seems to be living a tough life, but looks to be eating well.

It is great to live in a place where we have such amazing wildlife.

A wild diamond I relocated the other day.
And one from the day before. I consider both of these snakes to be animals of significance, both are large adult breeding females in particurlarly exceptional health.

It really is an honour to be able to work with these beautiful animals, and seeing them in the wild can really make your day. Having one in your yard is great, tell your neighbours, give it a name and try to make the neighbours feel special about having it about, tell them to photograph it, teach them about how placid they can be, and hopefully they will be ok with it and everyone can keep tabs on it. They are the best rodent control device known.

I'm not squeezing -it just appears that way. This one was very fat and heavy. Relocated at Mt Keira. Home of large dark diamond pythons.

And "Slenderella" at the archery range was getting hassled by magpies as it was sunning.

Nice shots meako! Saw 'our' diamond sunning again this afternoon. Two of our three neighbours encourage wildlife and like to watch it, so no prob. The third one totally neglects his backyard, thus creating lots of habitat. He isn't that keen on wildlife, but he is very lazy. The diamond should be quite safe around us. :)
