I was a little bit surprised that both Canon and Nikon switched tactics. Traditionally Canon have always gone for the higher mega pixels at the detriment to low light sensitivity and Nikon have gone with lower MP sensors with better sensitivity. Now with the new cameras they are around the other way.

Personally, I will wait to see how the price drops and then consider upgrading to the Canon 5D MkIII. I don't think either camera is worth a change of brand.

You will get better wide angle shots with the full frame sensor, but loose out on the multiplier effect on the longer lenses with the smaller sensor.
The multiplier point is moot, as you can just crop the image in post production, which would give you the same image that a cropped sensor will.
