Best advice is get Danny browns book on keeping Australian geckos. You can buy it online direct from him. Also a good one by rob porter although a bit lighter on detail a fair bit cheaper in price.

Then how come you are not sure of the species?

I'm unsure of the species, as Barking Gecko is Underwoodisaurus millii and Southern Leaf-tailed Gecko could be Phyllurus platurus or Saltuarius swaini. This is problem with using common names.
What is the scientific name given on your licence?
