I got given a 3ft fish tank with everything to set it up and im looking to getting a turtle most probably a eastern long neck but what's a small size turtle I know I will have to put them outside later im fine with that so please post care sheets and setups :)

The best care sheet I have seen for Australian turtles is Caring for Australian Freshwater Turtles in Captivity. I have never owned a long turtle so I can't speak about that species but I an posting a few pictures of our habitats. The basic rule is that you should provide approx 10 gal (US) of water for each inch (15 L / cm) of shell length. The turtle with need basking area when it can dry off and warm itself. You should provide a UVB light over the basking area and a strong basking / heat light to raise the basking temperature to about 10 - 15 F (5 - 8 C) warmer than the water temperature. For Australian species I use a 50/50 mix of plays and and crushed coral (Calgrit). Water temperatures, salinity, pH and diets are species specific.

This is a three foot (45 gal) habitat setup for a Reeves Turtle, Mauremys reevesii and a Chinese Golden Thread turtle, Mauremys sinensis..

This is our community habitat, 6 ft x 2ft x 2ft (180 gal US).
