Hi all

I previously posted under "New member - new snake". I live in Riverhills (S-W Brisbane) and I have a large Carpet Python in the garage roller door which is also home (when it is vacant) to a family of possums. Can anyone in the Brisbane area help with its relocation?

Haha, she may take some pics before she releases it. I'd say she'll release it on her way home though, our camera is on the desk next to me......

Haha this is so weird. We got the call after Den recommended us, and then put Sharna onto the job - who for the uninformed is Den's girlfriend...

Hi all

I apologize for the delay in thanking Kyro, Den, Jonno of Educational Reptile Display, and Sharna who successfully removed our well fed Carpet Python. The bad news is that we lost one of our beloved visiting possums; the good news is that we will save money having to buy less bananas and pawpaws. The python resisted all attempts to dislodge it from inside the roller door, so we decided to unbolt the door and remove the snake on the ground. Not being a roller door mechanic, I unbolted the guides and the u-bolts which caused the roller to rapidly unroll, thus releasing the unfortunate snake. The good news was the snake was then easily placed in the bag; the bad news was the door is so bent that it needs replacing. Oh well, it is 27 years old and I think a swing door type will eliminate the "hollow log" factor and discourage possums from taking up residence. The two photos attached were the only ones of six that did not suffer blurring from my trembling hands. Photo #2 is, of course, Sharna expertly packing our guest.

Thanks guys for your help.

Trevor
