I got a call out to a house today because they had a snake in between their screen door and glass door. They said it was small but I wasn't expecting it to be this small! I am pretty sure it's a Drysdalia rhodogaster please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

OMG what a complete waste of resources. I hope you had a few kind words to them.

I can assure you my hands are normal size. It was so cute, I was afraid to squash it when I picked it up. Luckily it was in my suburb and I didn't have to go far to pick it up.

That is so sweet, so what did you do with him/her??? What size do they get to when adult?

whats its common name ? and it looks like a realy nice snake, realy small though, ;)

True, but at least they didn't just kill it! You'd be surprised (or not?) at how many people still kill snakes.

By the way that snake is too cute for words.

I released it at a house that backs onto the bush that has a really nice water feature in their yard, it looks like a billabong and they didn't mind when I reasured them it was harmless. Their common name is blue mountains crown snake. I think they get to around 60cm.

nawww... cutie...

My auntie is utterly phobic of snakes... I've had to rescue a few green tree snakes about that big. It would appear she has a local female, has a few youngins just bout every year. None last year however, but i'm hoping she has some more this year! I love em! sooooooo cute!

I kinda think that's fair enough! Most people wouldn't know a venomous snake from a harmless one. What if it were a baby brown? I wouldn't want to be picking one of them up and relocating it. At least they had respect enough not to just kill it! Just my two cents worth anyway. :D

Very cute little guy by the way.

I cant tell what it is from the pic, it might not be Drysdalia rhodogaster. I thought they looked different as juvies, though i have not seen one for years so could be wrong.

regardless of the size brown hair ,some people have a genuine fear of snakes ,so to them it is still very frightening...
arent they also called the mustard-bellied snake ?
