Hey guys any one Skate I used to when I was younger and mite get back into it have a friend who's into it again and is skates ramps and bowls doubt I will be able to skate that good for awhile hahah

Didn't realize how expensive all the gear would be, Any one ever built a mini ramp ?

i used to skate when younger, brought some new boards not long ago.. been to the bowl 2 times.. very frustrating not being able to ride like i did when i was 15-16yo...lol.. boards are brand new without a scratch...lol..View attachment 156613

Yeah I bet ill get frustrated a bit trying to get into it but should be fun, Would love to build a mini ramp but I suck at building things.

i can still remember 'tony hawk' & 'the bones brigade' came to the skate shop i worked in when i was 15yo.. they done a demo on the 'cockroach' wheels ramp(the first ever 'portable ramp built in australia') it was on the back of a semi trailer... im 38 now..lol.. to old to skate anymore(to many broken ankles..)... good luck mate get into it..

'83 to 88' were the years to be a skater... i dont like the new boards.. they would be classed as 'freestyle' boards in my day.. 'rodney mullen' style..

He is a legend, So many good skaters around now, How much did you pay for your board mate you should keep at it for fun now and then.

Tony,

My boys are into scooters. Over Easter I took them to King Edward park for a few runs down to Sth Newcastle sKate park, and then a run from Strezleciles down to bar Beach Car park.

This Holidays we did a run down Mt Sugarloaf, (they had to walk some of the way). They had a great time, as did the young guys on big wheel trikes that went past us.

NB: And Jody No Fun says that I'm irresponsible ?

cool, next thing will be 'motobikes' or 'surfboards'..lol..

Yep i skate:D Have been for about 30 years now. Used to skate a lot of ramp mainly mini ramp but also used to head to Keirle park at Manly and Five Dock, me and some mates built a 4ft high by about 12ft wide one in a mates backyard and used to hit it up every day.

AM Pythons did you used to work at Burwood?? I think i was at that demo, saw just about every demo through the 80's when the pros came out. Best ones would of been the one at Martin place and the one at the Opera house.

These days i'm more into bombing down hills and carving transitions i'll leave all the flippy crap for the youngsters who feel the need to impress. I also collect a bit of the 80's skate stuff and have a fair few old decks and set ups ive managed to get hold of. Pride and joy would have to be a santa cruz Jeff Grosso coca cola rip off with thunder trucks and bullet 66's wheels, i had the same setup when i was a kid but it got stolen, was so stoked to pick this one up on ebay and it felt so natural to ride.

Oh yeah as far as scooters go there for people who can't skate and roller blades, well, they'll always be fruit boots as far as i'm concerned..
