Ever have those days where there seem to be way too many terrible drivers planted in front of you for it to be coincidence? I was having one of those yesterday; it was so bad I was starting to have paranoid fantasies of random people radioing each other and coordinating their moves... ("She's turning up the main street now, number five get in front and slow down to 30 under the limit, there's a nice thick line of traffic heading the other way and she won't be able to get past for at least 10 k, over."..."Copy that number four, over!"...)
There were no less than two going 50 on 80 stretches, several random instant indicators who just don't seem to realise there may possibly be drivers in the other lane, park-darters and procrastinators, road works (oh the road works... do you think that sometimes, when there's no work on, some council workers decide to just set up cones and dig an unnecessary hole just to look busy? I was wondering that in the twenty minutes I was stopped for the tiny little hole in the middle of one lane...), and one woman who floated out of a servo on the wings of a dream right in front of me. I was plagued I tell you... plagued!
So how about you guys? What fun drivers have you encountered lately?

 I am usually the one people swear at ROFLMFAO so I just smile and wave, smile and wave ;)

Just to let you all know: I'm a firm believer in "I don't know what's going through that person's head so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They could be driving slowly/inattentively/plain badly for any reason..." But yesterday tested my patience to the absolute limit!

Yep, I test most peoples patience ha ha ha ha ;)

One or two I can deal with, honestly... usually I have a laugh about it. Yesterday though, I swear I busted a couple talking into radios...

I get that every week, especially on knock off early Friday...
I must look like the stereotypical commodore driver because roadrage kicks in pretty quick.

i live at coffs harbour and we are currently going through a major highway upgrade and a big section of road that used to be 100k the whole way has gone down to 80k ,60k and down to 40k in some spots
now i drive a diesel and i rarely go over 80k so that doesn't really bother me to much but what annoys me is when you get some idiot that slows down for a 60 zone or a 40 zone and then just doesn't seem to notice all the 80k signs after that (or they ignore it) and keeps doing 60 for rest of the road that annoys me and this is supposed to be going on for the next 4 years

I saw a P-Plater girl almost get very badly blind-sided the other day from a driver she cut-off when turning right across an intersection. It was obviously just a momentary lapse in concentration, but one that could have ended very badly for both drivers. I think she said the word, then did it! Looked very uncomfortable driving up the road - white as a sheet!

All I can say is keep your wits about you whilst on the roads. It's not worth losing your life over doing something silly. Check intersections before crossing them - even if you're crossing through a traffic light controlled intersection! Just a glance either way could save your life, or even the dumb-smuck who has run it.

I saved myself a bit of grief one day using this little rule. A large semi on a wet road came flying through a red light one Friday afternoon, no brakes, no intention of stopping (no ability to stop), and I was the first one off the lights. The car behind me was a little cheesed off I was waiting for something and was beeping frantically at me (obviously in a rush to get killed ). Had he been in front of me I might have had to waste even more of my valuable time waiting around explaining the incident to the cops and coroner :)

Be careful! ;)

Can I also add: What is this ridiculous law that only allows P-Platers in NSW to drive at only 80 in a 100 zone?? Seriously dumb law! Poor buggers had semis tailing them everywhere when I passed through NSW recently.

I totally agree moosenoose. Just a few seconds to take that second glance can easily save your or someone else's skin, people shooting out of parks, changing lanes, overtaking... I can't count the amount of times I've been forced into an impromtu game of chicken because there's been some twit too eager to get where they're going to actually check and see if the oncoming lane is clear. Once I've even been forced onto the verge because they literally shot out right in front of me, and at the time I was heavily pregnant, so my planned homebirth almost turned into an emergency side-of-road!
It used to be 80k limit for L platers here, they amended it somehow though, although it didn't affect me so I didn't note the details, but if I remember correctly it's L platers of a certain age or who have done something stupid have the limit and a little round '80' sign on their L plate. I used to try and be patient when they had that limit though, I remember how embarassing it was for me to hold up traffic, people driving right on my back bumper never helped with the nerves so I try and hold back a bit and overtake when I can.

Sorry, I was meant to say L-Platers, not P-Platers doing 80kmh in a 100 zone.

It just seemed a little crazy to me that they are not allowed to keep with the flow of traffic. I'd never seen this before. It was causing a little bit of havoc as people were zipping around them and having to jump out of the left lane and into the "crazy lane" simply because a Learner driver was not allowed to flow with the traffic.

I suppose the theory is that they're not allowed to go 100 until they have the experience to handle it, but I don't get how they are supposed to get used to it. The first time I had my P's I let rip and freaked out a little bit, 100 used to seem so fast! All restricting speed does is amplify the crazy really, both in road-ragers stuck behind them and in the ensuing fresh P platers. Personally I'd rather hold back until an overtaking lane; I don't want to do stupid things and total my car or myself for the sake of an extra 20km/h, but not everyone feels that way.

when i was on my l plates i did a bit of driving on the freeway coming into sydney my i remember my dad got me to do 90k because it was a 110k zone i passed a few different highway patrol cars and not a single one looked twice guess they were after the people doing over 110

That's a good point too Thomas, I forgot most of those zones were 110kmh limits. When you are minding your own business and come flying up on a car that's doing 30kmph slower than everyone else, it creates a bit of an obstacle. People are changing lanes unnecessarily when most are happy enough to drop their speed to suit the driver in front (I know I do), but not when they are traveling considerably slower than everyone else.

I was getting tailed on numerous occasions by trucks even when I was doing the limit. Those blokes are crazy  I felt sorry for the few L-Platers I saw who were clearly obeying the rules placed on them.

A truck driver tried to merge in on me the other day when I was riding my bike. As soon as his indicator came on I knew he was going to do it so I put the brakes on, and just as well, I would have had a truck on top of me otherwise. Caught it on my camera too. I also caught someone in a 4WD go through a red light on purpose... and lots of people not giving way to me at roundabouts. I expect these things to happen anyway, never trust anyone.

BAHAHAHA I am sooo like that in the Commodore! People just don't see me in Rose... funny tho, she's bright red! I swear people must know the horn doesn't work in the commodore atm. So I'm bashing on the steering wheel waiting for the airbag to go off!
I love how indicators are optional extras and I'm a mind reader, people who don't dim their high beams or my personal favourite... people who flash their lights at me cause they think I'm speeding. I have news for you people... I am a lazy driver in the commodore and the cruse control is set to 100! And I don't go over 80 in Rose so *insert raspberry here*

Dude that major highway upgrade was going when I lived there... and I haven't lived there for about 13 years now!
