So excited I have to tell someone, first attempt at breeding and my intergrade is laying my first clutch (not her first) as I`m typing! I think theres 3 out so far and I`m nervously double checking the incubator every 1/2 hour like an idiot!

Thanks for all the help mate!, been good to have someone to get straight, honest answers to newbie breeding questions. Hopefully catch up soon.

in my experiance of horrable breeding fails have all happened when I've been excited and nervous all at the same time from collecting eggs and not grabing my female properly and she tipped the hole clutch upside down, the eggs looked strange and didn't have good viens so I freaked out. I think with this I dont touch the eggs till I am settled down and have a leveled head about what I am doing. so go get yaself all set, container and substraight, incubator may take a wile to stablize, sit and just chill for abit. every clutch no mater if its your first or not is very very exiting. congrats

All good so far. She came out to bask next morning so i grabbed the eggs while she was out. Quick check and a count, 14 eggs all looked healthy, and straight into incubator. Sitting very stable at 29.6°. Now i just have to stop checking the temp every hour!

Took awhile but her is my first clutch and Mum & Dad. I`ve settled down a bit now but I`m now hoping they`ve hatched before I go on holidays!

I had a female turn her eggs over twice first at 34 days and then again at 52nd day still got 22 outta 22 so that whole don't turn eggs is crap as far as I'm concerned

Its been a bit of a nervous time cos I'm on holidays while my eggs hatch but they're all out now. 15 from 14 eggs! My neighbour got the privilege of watching them hatch and has done an awesome job looking after them for me while I'm away. Can't wait to get home and see them for myself!

Any breeding tips for a first timer like me? I hope to try breed my SWCP's next season, so would love any tips/advise from how to get started, if there is any tips on getting pairs excited in each other (lol, expecting some silly answers to that one) and any advise on moving eggs from cage to incubator. (Should I separate, or leave together) and basically anything from others experience that I may not or read/published in books... Thanks in advance.

Awesome news Norm...Now getting the little ones feeding...so how many days did it actually take for them to hatch..

Are they all the same size?
If yes maybe miss count!
If no then maybe twins!

Just got word from my neighbour, miss count, only 14!
Reb01, I pipped them on day 56 as I was going away the next day, they hatched over the next 2 days so 57, 58 days.
mostly cooked at 31.5 but had a few fluctuations down to about 30 because temps gradually got hotter in the egg mass and I had to turn down the incubator.

I`m finally home from holiday and got to see the hatchies for the 1st time! here`s some pics of a couple of them.
