I wouldnt class myself as a musician but i do vocals in my mates garage metal band.. i got a range of say Atreyu (scr-emo i know but its a fairly close example lol) right down to bands like Slipknot and Trivium

yeah been playing for about 18 years. It is my full time job now and we make pretty good money out of it playing just 2 nights a week, sometimes 3 nights. Used to play in bands until about 3 years ago when I finally realised being a solo muso pays so much better! I am mainly a singer and play enough guitar to get me through.

I play guitar, Bass and Rhythm (lead is too much for me, Rhythm is my best, 10years +). Also can handle a Drum Kit (my favourite), Played Tuba for a couple of years... Can sing Ok :lol: after a few beers... But am now wrapped up in electro and sound producing/innovation. I can beat mix confidently on two decks (sometimes 3), scratch, and throw in effects and beats from a 'groove box' (505,909, & the new 808 Roland). Basically music and herping rule my life

i play electric guitar. playin for almost 5 years now, very casually, i intend to do some serious playing in the future though. not necessarily as a career, just do some band work lol. had a go at keyboard for a few years, bit boring tho and i didnt bother learnin too much

:lol: :lol: good point. I can play i just have never played in a band, the wife plays and sings in a band and plays bass and piano if needed.

Her family are all good at music, im just glad my kids take after her in that way and not me :lol:

Dave and Donelle, (pilbarapythons are musicians), and do alot of gigs. Donelle can sing like you wouldnt belive.

i'm starting up guitar, what are good songs to learn on?

Learn songs you actually like. Don't just learn songs that are easy to play. If you get to a part of a song, don't give up but keep at it until you get. I know lots of 'guitarists' that can play parts of songs but not the whole song.
I used to play in bands until a few years ago. Still have my Strat and Peavey 5150 though

Oh god, not Enter Sandman! Probably one of the most played riffs in guitar shops. Nothing else matters has some more challenging parts to learn.
