hahahaha thats crazy glad I dont have to do things like that

Interesting way to catch a snake but..........
I feel so sorry for that poor snake.
Wonder if they just left those eggs?

I believe the African Rock Python is one of the few (only?) python/snake that provides some sort or maternal care for its hatchlings. Most abandon their eggs before or when they hatch.

I saw an interesting doco which showed a mother Rock Python shepherding her youngsters in and out of the nesting hole. It was very cute to see such a large animal taking such care of tiny hatchlings. It seemed very similar to the way mother croc's look after their young.

I wonder hoe much protection he would get from that hide tided around his arm.
But i'm not curios enough to try it. :D

yeah...Especially since seeing that rock python with its mouth caught open on the fence a while back - reckon that could punture a car tyre...

awsome pic herptrader - thanks for sharing.

herptrader saw a doco on the diamond back rattler that looks after its young for up to 48hrs, how long is this python ment to look after its young?
