Well my day off today started off rainy and wet, and a cool 18 degrees.
My wife rett82 and I decided to take the kids for a family drive out into the NSW riverina to a place we both really like. We were totally not expecting to see any reptiles, then as we drove along a long dirt road, i spotted something sunning itself on the road. It was a beautiful little eastern blue tongue. It was about 20 degrees, overcast and humid. I wasnt expecting to see any reptiles out.
We do a lot of driving, and this is only the 2nd one of these we have come across, and its colours were truly amazing. There was a slight orange tinge on the sides of its stomach, and its tail appeared lighter in colour to the rest of its body.
What a beauty, and what a surprise. We see very few of these for some reason, we see a lot more blotched blue tongues. I think i prefer the easterns.
