Aggressive Eastern Bearded Dragon Help!

I have just purchased an Eastern Bearded Dragon and he is extremely aggressive. I just wanted to know what is the best way to deal with him or learn how to handle him, any advice is good.

leave him alone for a while, only open the cage to feed / clean/water......after a while he should get used to you and be handleable( is that a word)......could be a few days, could be a few weeks, could be never
