Anyone know what these are?

Just wondering if anyone can identify these 2 guys for me.

My hubby has spent some time over in Kulumburu, WA and has taken these pics for me cause I asked him to take photos of any reptiles he sees!

He said the little guy in the water was so quick, that was all he could snap of him unfortunately... Anyway I just thought I would ask if anyone recognises them.

the one in the water is a mertens water monitor.Don,t know what type of gecko it is.

Thanks!! He looks kinda like an otter in the water! Atleast now we know what he really is!!

I'd agree with the mertens ID, the gecko looks like it could be a Gehyra species.

Id say definatly a Gehyra australis and it looks to have a regenerated tail..
