anyone used halogen lights in there avery to provide a artificial basking spot?

due to my neighbours and there ********N pine trees i cant place the avery to get the mornign bask.

thinking of using a halogen light, wire it to the outside of the cage to provide the bask (thus they cant wrap around it and burn themselves also) will it provide enough heat (the 150 watt one from bunnings probably) for a diamond basking spot (31ish)

yeah ill be using the 150 watt from bunnings... 150watt halogen, all i need is the basking spot for 2hrs, they are out there for breeding this season cant get the herp room cold enough due to others not being cooled this season

I use basking lights for when there is no sun(with lizards). Halogens are good, but for a python i would just use a heat cord.
