Bearded dragon substrate

i have a western bearded dragon jw can i use blue metal as a substrate?

u could but ur asking for trouble if it managed to swallow some
it would also be hard to keep clean
go with paper towel for juveniles and washed "play" sand for adults

does it matter if the sand is silica based?

Just use astro turf from bunnings,u can hose it down and throw it back in.

i also have a western bearded dragon and put him on red desert sand.
ive never had a problem with it.
