everytime i bath my two beardies they puff up. (a lot more than usual to gain heat)
i find this highly unusual and would like to know if there is a set temperature for the water that you should bath them or if its just them expanding there bodies to gain more heat???
the worrying problem is that even after i take them out of the water they stay puffed out like this for at least 10 minutes....
any help or advice is greatly appreciated

My beardie does the same thing I usually make sure its a little warmer than what you would have a baby's bath... I usually pat my guy dry so he doesn't get cold and then he sits under the heat puffed out for a little bit..... Its quite normal apparently for them to do that to take in extra heat and u will notice as they get older they will go black instead of puffing up as this is their heat mechanism...

They tend to puff themselves out when wet in order to stay buoyant(float) . ;)

Blue tongues etc all do it as well. you can actually see them swallowing down the air.

When they 'hiss' its more just expelling air.

Hope that helps!

cheers
thats good to know.
that must be it but ill keep an eye on them...
