Hi Guys,
I have sent the following email around to some people in the states (at like 3am this morning lol) and thought that I would see if anyone here has had their beardy to the vet for a similar thing and cured it.
Now I have had a read of some of the viruses going around in beardies o/s (apparently the viruses started here ) but I'm not sure if it's any of those things.
Cheers and thanks for your help
Bex :)

The animal begins to loose weight off their backs, heads and tails. No matter how much you feed them, they continue loosing weight, yet they have very fat and healthy looking bellys that almost drag on the floor from the amount of food they've consumed
They slowly become listless and would rather lay on the ground than move around the tank
They begin to become less alert
The develop a wheezing/gurgling sound or a cough
Within a few months of the cough developing, they die.

Important things to note:
This has happened to young animals right through to older adults.
It happens to EITHER sex
They have been treated for worms and parasites to no avail
They have been treated with antibiotics for respiratory infections and alike without success.
