Beardie Substrate?

Hello all,

Whats a good beardie substrate? I know that sand is good for later years, but I'm getting a hatchie! Newspaper dyes their feet black, so other than that, whats a good one other than newspaper? I was thinking tiles, but I don't know where to get any!:x:x

My baby beardie LOVES his fake grass / astroturf. It looks great, and he loves running on it, as it has good grip. Also, it's easy to clean, cheap, and safe. He did taste it a few times, but it is too strong for him to chew.
