i rehoused my hatch beardy into a bigger home. 2ft glass tank instead of a plastic tub. the problem is that he keeps climbing the branches in the tank and jumping for the top of the tank in an attempt to escape. is this normal or does it really hate its new home.

mm yea i understand that our herps are always keen to escape. however im worrying the little guy will hurt himself. ive removed some of the furniture from the tank for the time being.

I reckon from observation of all my little hatchies, & all my big ones, that it's a safety thing, a natural instinct - they all love to get to the highest point (especially on dusk).
Just make sure he can't reach the top or he'll hurt himself falling out, & have a softer landing substrate under where he might possibly fall inside the tank - i.e. sand instead of tiles just there for example.
