blueys are an awkward species to sex,I thought I knew how but my son had 1 we thought was male for a few years because of long thin tail but then after the last brumation the shape changed to a short fat tail .There was an article in scales & tails #11 where even the experienced breeder couldn't tell.

nice little bluey, very cute.

don't name it till you have had it for a fews days at least to make sure the name suits his/her personality.

mine is called Bluey her old owners use to call her Harley.

hard to tell if they are male or femle best of waiting till its a bit older.

Is a mix of coco peat and sand ok for substrate?
sand is not the original substrate for blueys, look at where they live naturally.
For a couple of years I used to dig out a square of turf to put in her tank every couple of months so she had green grass and dirt ,can't beat that for natural:D
I have found that wood chips is a great favourite,I currently have 2-3" of redgum to burrow through.
