Calcium stores in geckos...

The calcium stores on the necks of geckos, are they present in both male and female, or is it only the females?
It's just I have three marbled geckos, two have them and one doesn't.

My Dtella males dont have them while the female does, they store it for egg production so there is no need for the males to store large amounts

Well that's what I'd have thought, but I have a half-sized gecko, and from his bulges and temperament I reckon it'd be a male, however it has calcium stores as well... now I'm confused!
