Can people please ID this Dragon for me?

Sorry I don't have any pictures since my camera was at the house.

Anyway, the dragon was about the size of a bearded dragon but the tail was about one and a half times the length of the body and the tail was pretty much completely black except for stripes down the side and there was black markings going from the eye to the neck and the under belly from what little I saw of it was a light red colour.
It was about half a meter to a meter including tail and it had a slight ridge going down it's back.
I saw it near the dam and I didn't have my camera with me so I couldn't get any pictures, which is so annoying.
It's back was also black but not really dark.

Can someone please tell me what it was?

I looked for pictures but couldn't find any but that is it.

IsK67, do you know that that is probably the trunk of an Elephant?

The tail on the one I saw was more black and there was no yellow stripe on the face either.

Yes they can Matt - I had a femal ewith a fully red belly. As red as any male I have seen. And so did her female babies.
