On the way home tonight I came close to running over this fella. It was crossing the road but close enough to the edge to allow me to swerve without doing myself some damage. Pulled up (in the middle of the road), fumbled for a torch and then walked back. The Ollie was off the bitumen and moving across the trap rock of a floodway. So I moved the car off the floodway and went back with the camera.
Most Ollies around my place have tended to be a bit thicker set than this one. And I noticed a lump on this ones back. Thought it might be a parasite of some sort. But, other than the lump itself, couldn't see anything there.
Anyway, glad I didn't run it over, but it was a close shave.
