They had something on one of those morning TV shows about "Controversal Comedians", having watched comedy since 1988/89 I have to say some of the things that they call controversal now is pretty tame. I'm going to watch the show tomorrow however cause they've got Julian Clary (not how it's spelt I know) on it, he's 'as camp as a row of boy scout tents' but hey, it'll be a trip down memory lane.

Well whaddya know....speak of the devil, Julian Clary is on GNW!!

Death Star Canteen and Cake or Death are possibly two of the best sketches of all time!

I also want to marry Adam Hills - he is soooo funny and incredibly sexy!

...and Jimmy Carr too. The English boys have it down pat ;)
Byrne is Irish and I'm sure Carr's humour is more a product of his Irish heritage than his English upbringing.;)
Much respect to the English though. Bill Bailey is a favourite of mine, something about his anti-humour and musical comedy that appeals to me.
Gervais and Lee Mack also have their moments.
Paul Whitehouse does some decent sketch comedy on the Fast Show, still have to see Help.

Love Ricky Gervais
I've been a fan of Jason Byrne for quite awhile and got the cance to see him in Brisbane recently; fantastic show. Dylan Moran is very funny. Danny Bhoy and Wil Anderson are both great live.

Nothing wrong with that :D One of the best comic pieces was 200MPH by Bill Cosby IMHO :D ;)
I'm going to sound like such an old fuddy duddy (and I'm not, I have a filthy sense of humour and swear more than most men I know), but there's just something brilliant about Cosby when you consider he gets by with very little swearing or filth in his act. To me it takes a bit more skill to get laughs out of people of different races and ages when you don't have the old shock value of the c word to get you by.

Don't know if he's been listed yet but I forgot to mention Dylan Moran before, he takes some getting used to I'll admit, but I love that dry, cynical brand of humour.

Geez, that brings back some memories actually! Cosby was genius, ultra sharp and fast.

And Adzo, my mind strayed a bit... I was recently talking about US v UK humour with someone and it was a great laugh. I love some US comedy and standup like Cosby, Dave Shapelle (sp?), Seinfeld (the show) etc, but my all-time US fave show is 'Its always sunny in Philidelphia' It won't be shown over here on free to air due to the swearing and concepts,,, they've just finished Season 5 and can't wait til S6. The episodes aren't available to buy in Australia, so I had to get them in other ways ;) All the torrent sites have 'em.
