I'm actually surprised at how playful they are although I seem to remember hearing somewhere that otters are somewhat doglike in some ways.

you keep an otter as a pet, and you invariably lose a digit or two....one of my favourite animals none the less, one of the UK's conservation triumphs, since hunting was banned, and the river systems cleaned up...
