Can any lizard keepers give some advice? I replied to the email with a link to this thread. Thanks.

We have a lizard in our kitchen, about 8 inches long - we are 4 floors up in an
apartment in Sydney.. how on earth can I catch him and take him outside?? he has
been there for at least a couple of months.

Thanks

Before we can give advice, we need some more info.

Can you describe the lizard in more detail i.e colouration & pattern.

how on earth can I catch him?
Is it a skink, dragon or gecko?
Different species are caught differently i.e differing techniques & strategies employed.

Also, roughly where in Sydney are you?

This lizard is almost certainly an escaped pet and could be anything including exotics. They should call Sydney Wildlife on 9413 4300 to get it rescued.

i agree with pete, i know nothing about lizards but i think the best thing 2 do is ring Sydney Wildlife :) thats what i would do (if i lived in Sydney) :D

To catch it just watch where it goes in the evening and then in the middle of the night see if its still there asleep. Use a torch to prevent disturbing it, and catch it. If its an escapee then its probably used to a bit of handling.
