Feeding and Handling

Hi, have just bought my first South Western Carpet Python a couple of days ago. We fed it for the first time on Thursday and he still hasn't digested the food yet, what i was wondering is can we still take him out and handle him even if he is still digesting?

I wait until the bulge is gone and the animal is moving freely. Normally only takes a couple of days.
